MOCA- Wk 3

This week I came across Gulnur Guvenc, from Turkey. She uses photoshop and says that she is inspirationed by the Byzantine. The image that I chose to show for you all this week has been created in photoshop as well. It consists of layers of scanned seashells and photos of friends. I haven't tried layering pictures yet, and was very inspired when I saw this piece. I hope you like it.

  1. Hi Genese, I have to say layering was a frustrating pain at first (because I couldn't figure out how to do what I wanted) but once I got the hang of it it is fun. There are other tutorials on Youtube that helped.

I also have to say this artist is braver than I am... probably 95% of my photos are of people, but I would hesitate before manipulating them like she did...maybe I could start with someone I don't like (OK, I am kidding.)

  2. Nice find Genese... In Photoshop, if you can dream it, you can do it.
